White River Junction's

will be
Saturday, September 3, 2005 in
historic downtown White River Junction, Vermont.
Glory Days is a celebration of the railroad's presence
in and influence on the town of White River Junction, Vermont and the entire Upper
Connecticut River Valley. The festivities included street vendors, music, rides, and
displays of both models and real trains! The Green Mountain Railroad also
provides
unique rail excursions from White River Junction to Norwich during the day.
Those who have attended in the past have learned about the history of the area
railroads that helped build the town in the Golden Age of railroading, and learned about
the current resurgence in railroad transportation in the Upper Valley. Everyone
also gets
a chance to check out the railroad
station where Amtrak's Vermonter and New England Central freight trains visit
daily, and the New England Transportation Museum.
