Continued from Page 2 the chapter, but have not done all the leg work to come up with costs, suppliers etc. In addition to ideas for fund raising, we need
volunteers who are willing to actually do the work.
Goals for 1999: What goals should we set for next year? Should we send a younger member to the NRHS Railcamp? Gene has the details on the cost. Should we
donate to the 494 Restoration? Should we bank roll the money so that we can buy merchandise to sell? (We are short about $300 to pay for a run of post cards). Please voice your opinion!
We should also prepare a
brochure telling about the chapter and our activities. This could be distributed at the caboose and at shows. Right now we only have the application out, and it says nothing about what we do.
Another
thought is to have a Chapter excursion. It could be as simple as taking Amtrak to Bellows Falls and return, with the option of continuing to Amherst. Or we could charter a coach on the Green Mountain, or other
line. These could bring money into the Chapter rather than using money.
Anyone interested in organizing a trip or event should get the information and make a proposal at our meeting.
